2020년 10월 16일(금)-17(토)에 열린 가을학술대회는 코로나사태로 온라인(키메디)으로 진행되었습니다. 모두 790여명의 회원이 사전등록을 하였습니다.

학술대회 하루 전에 온라인으로 개최된 평의원회의는 118명 제적 평의원 중 모두 92명이 참석하였습니다. 차기 부회장으로 원자력병원 이승숙 선생님과, 차기 감사로 분당서울대병원 최기영 선생님이 선출되었습니다.

주요 특강 및 심포지움으로 

첫째날에는

 “회장 특강 - 세포병리학회의 국제적 동향과 미래 전략 - 홍순원 교수(연세의대)”, “특강 Ⅰ: Radiology in thyroid gland lesions - Diagnostic approach to the thyroid nodules 

김은경 교수(연세의대)”, 그리고 “심포지엄Ⅰ: Thyroid gland cytology - Cytologic diagnosis of the oncocytic and oncocytic-like thyroid lesions 

이승은 교수(건국의대)”, “Indeterminate lesions in thyroid FNA 

박소연 교수(서울의대)”, “Cytologic features of papillary thyroid carcinoma variants 

정찬권 교수(가톨릭의대)”, “Uncommon thyroid malignancies 

오영륜 교수(성균관의대)”의 강연이 있었습니다.

두번째날에는

 “세포 진단을 위한 병리 교육 프로그램”으로 “Common benign lesions in thyroid 원재경 교수(서울의대)”, 

심포지엄 Ⅱ에는 “Gynecologic Cytology Glandular lesion in gynecologic cytology 

유한석 교수(서울의대)“, “Cervical Cytology: Squamous Lesions 김현수 교수(성균관의대)”

의 강연이 있었습니다.

학회 총회에서는 제22회 학술상 시상이 있었습니다. 

대상에는 가톨릭대학교 서울성모병원 병리과 정찬권 선생님이 “Atypical Histiocytoid Cells and Multinucleated Giant Cells in Fine-Needle Aspiration Cytology of the Thyroid Predict Lymph Node Metastasis of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. Cancers (Basel) 2019;11(6):816.” 논문으로 수상을 하였습니다. 

우수상은 먼저 동아대학교 의과대학 병리학교실 박민경 선생님(Cell-blocks are suitable material for programmed cell death ligand-1 immunohistochemistry: Comparison of cell-blocks and matched surgical resection specimens in lung cancer. Cytopathology 2019;30(6):578-585.)과 연세대학교 의과대학 병리학교실 박은향 선생님(Carcinogenic risk of human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes and potential effects of HPV vaccines in Korea. Sci Rep. 2019;9(1):12556.) 각각 수상하였습니다.

그리고 JPTM 세포논문 최다 게재상인 장려상에는 서울대학교병원 병리과 김혜령 선생님이 2019년 JPTM에 원저 1편(Cytomorphological features of hyperchromatic crowded groups in liquid-based cervicovaginal cytology: a single institutional experience), 증례 1편(Liquid-based cytology features of papillary squamotransitional cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix: a brief case report)을 발표하여 수상하였습니다.

2020년에는 코로나사태로 처음 계획하였던 많은 행사들이 취소되거나 비대면 학술대회로 일정이 조정되는 등 차질을 빚었습니다. 이에 2021년 상반기 학술대회는 모두 온라인으로 운영될 예정입니다.
